We installed porcelain tile around the pool and patio. It never gets hot, not slippery when wet, and perfect for no shoes. The ICF-insulated pool saves me so much in heating costs. We don't have time or energy to care and commute to a cottage so the next best thing was to invest in a low maintenance pool and backyard retreat. No regrets we are enjoying it so much during this heat wave. Matt was patient, honest and friendly from start to finish. His crew was respectful and tok real care in every step. We first hired Matt in 2005, back when he was still designing by hand. He knew what he was doing even then, and made us feel taken care of from the very beginning. The yard still looks fantastic, and when we brought them back years later, we got the same tremendous care and attention to detail we were used to. My outdoor space was a mess and it needed serious help. I got a quote but I wanted a second opinion so I asked a friend who worked in the landscape industry and she recommended Horvath Landscape. After meeting Matthew, he knew what he was doing, wanted to know what we were looking for in our outdoor space and was ok with lots of questions. Horvath has a different approach to landscape, it's not just about the construction, they believe in designing spaces that look great and function for the family. I had no idea what was possible and they came up with an incredible 3D rendering of what our outdoor space can look like and my mind was blown. We worked on revisions to the design to bring it into budget with materials and plants we liked and Horvath was supportive and patient moving us forward. After the design phase came construction, the crew is kind, fast and works really hard and there is amazing progress done every day. Any time I had a question or concern, the crew would explain what was going to happen that day or what would happen next. There were setbacks, of course, but there was always a plan to move forward and some nice additions we didn't think of in the design phase that were reasonably priced. When the pool was dug out of the ground, the weather called for torrential downpours. To ensure the rain didn't wash out what was dug, Matthew spent a Saturday in the rain diverting water from the hole to around the property. The project was completed in the 6-8 weeks as Matthew had estimated and it's pretty spot on to the 3D renderings. We get so many compliments on our little oasis and love spending time in our outdoor space. Highly recommend.
